Aloha and welcome to the brand new website for the Triple Scholarship programs. It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you to the dawn of a new Era here on Maui as the MMMOT, MMET and MVI Scholarship Program's Executive Board has taken on a bold new approach to enrich the lives of our Maui County's young men and women.
*We are excited to announce a brand new scholarship pageant added to our program. The Mr. Maui Exceptional Teen! We as a Board of Directors felt it was time to offer scholarships to the young Men of Maui County as well and the response has been overwhelming! Mahalo Maui!
As the Miss Maui Outstanding Teen is an official preliminary program to the Miss Hawaii Outstanding Teen and Miss America Outstanding Teen Scholarship program, the Miss Valley Isle is an official local preliminary to the Miss Hawaii Scholarship and Miss America programs. The brand new Mr. Maui Exceptional Teen is a pageant designed to offer scholarships to the young men in Maui County to be able to continue their educational futures to succeed in life. We are committed to helping our contestants achieve their scholastic dreams and enriching their educational dreams.
The Executive Board of Directors have taken a fresh and exciting approach in designing the MMOT, MMET and MVI Scholarship program to highlight and showcase each contestant as a model, title holder, spokeswoman and representative of their Island of Maui.
I am excited and proud to announce the Scholarship Program will be help on February 27, 2010 at the Westin maui Resort & Spa in beautiful Ka'anapali The crowning of titles gives these talented and motivated young men and women the opportunity to continue their education through scholarships and tuition grants made possible through donations and our gracious sponsors. The MMOT, MMET and MVI Scholarship program is a non profit organization which depends on donations and sponsorships from family, friends, local businesses and organizations who help to assist us strive for excellence to make dreams come true for the next generation! For this I deeply thank our gracious sponsors for their love and continued support of our organization!. We humbly and deeply THANK YOU for your generosity!
Our first year 2009, we had the opportunity to offer six titles to be able to go to the Miss Hawaii Outstanding Teen on Oahu in June. Our very first Miss Maui Outstanding Teen, Napua Salbedo was crowned Miss Hawaii's Outstanding Teen 2009! Congratulations to Napua and her Ohana! The 1st runner up of the Miss Maui Outstanding Teen, Kayla Ferriera has graciously taken over the role and title of Miss Maui Outstanding Teen 2009. We welcome her and her family and thank her for the many public appearances and outings she has helped us with. Our six 2009 title holders Miss Maui OT Kayla Ferreira, Miss Valley Isle Genee Constantino (Scholastic Achievement winner MHOT 09), Miss Hula Rock Ashley Hudson, Miss Elly's Catelin Aiwohi, Miss Westin Maui Monica Mendrano and Miss Aloha Culture Breana Asuncion have all come a long way, starting out as shy young women then through trials tribulations and going through what it takes to become a top contestant have both matured and have taken very active roles in helping us to coach and support each one of our contestants and give them an insight for what will happen as they continue through their competitions. I commend all our young ladies for their achievements and success. They all have made Maui proud and I know they all will go far in life.
This Scholarship program was just a stepping stone for opening the doors to their individual futures. This Scholarship program continues to learn as we grow not only as an organization but as individuals. Each of the directors give up their time, love and dedicate themselves to these contestants as none of the directors and board members are paid. This is our way of giving back to the community and helping our young men and women of Maui County to strive for excellence and achieve their highest potential. At times it is extremely challenging as we face many circumstances and obstacles but as a group we forge ahead and come out a success. I thank each of the directors and board members for their continued efforts and dedication to make this Scholarship Program deserving in the field of Scholastic Excellence.
Between the contestants and directors many hours are spent training them on walks, interviews, platforms, garments and talents. With the many hours spent together, we have developed long lasting friendship and bonds that will continue and last for years to come, as the ladies have said this has turned into their second family. Every single person involved with our Scholarship Program is to be commended for all their efforts! Please take a moment to familiar yourself with our brand new site. Here you will gain more knowledge on information on the organization, meet the contestants know who supports this organization, view the prizes and more! It is the new portal for the next generation of contestants. This site will give them ALL the information, qualifications and materials they will need to succeed as a future contestant.
